Better Sleep Begins Here
@ Treasure Coast Sleep Disorders
COVID-19 Update May 2020
As the only American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) accredited sleep lab still seeing patients in Saint Lucie and Martin Counties we are pleased to announce that Treasure Coast Sleep Disorders will resume CPAP titration and split night studies.
We have secured the ability to perform COVID-19 antigen viral load testing for our patients. In addition to the standard pre-test physical, we will need a negative COVID-19 test 1 week prior to the date of testing. We will ask that all patients maintain the use of a mask when in public and standard social distancing guidelines in the intervening days prior to polysomnogram testing. Patients may be dropped off at the lab, but family members and caregivers will not be entering the facility.
We have partnered with Associated Coastal ENT with service locations in Fort Pierce and Tradition to perform the COVID-19 testing. They will perform the nasopharyngeal swab testing (diagnostic labs do not offer the service) and facilitate scheduling within the 1-week window. Please call us if you have any questions or concerns.
Patients will be required to sign a release of liability as it relates to COVID-19 prior to testing as understandably there remains some intrinsic risk associated with limitations of testing services and human variables beyond our control. We will make this release available to your referring physician’s office to sign in advance. If it is not completed prior to the date of service you will be allowed complete it at the center, but we ask that you discuss this with your physician prior, rather than risk cancellation. If your physician’s office does not have the form, they can contact us and we will be happy to fax them the form.
You Can Always Count on Us
We are in this together
Our facility is operational and is able to take care of the health needs of our patients.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic – per the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines we are unable to conduct any PAP Titrations due to risk of aerosolization at this time. We are conducting Polysomnography’s. If a patient needs to be titrated we are recommending use of an APAP machine for the time being.
We are following all the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and the CDC’s guidelines in accordance to the COVID-19 impact.
Contact will be very minimal to distance our patients from each other and our staff as much as possible during these times.
If you have any questions please feel free to call us, we are here to help. We are all in this together. 772-232-9990
